How To Eat SushiHow To Eat Sushi. An all encompassing guide to enjoying sushi the polite way. Watch, learn and enjoy. One of the hottest food topics in the 21st century. You will need napkin plate hashi oki chopsticks dish for soy sauce napkin plate hashi oki chopsticks dish for soy sauce If you are new to Japanese food, don't be intimidated. There are a few do's and don'ts, but as with all food it is there to be enjoyed. Sushi is cold cooked rice flavoured with vinegar, shaped into bite-sized pieces and then topped with raw or cooked fish, or formed into a roll with fish, egg or vegetables and wrapped in seaweed.Step 1: What to expect(需要准备的餐具)Your place setting should include;A napkina platea small block called a hashi oki onto which you will rest your chopsticks and a small shallow dish - this is for pouring soy sauce into.Step 2: Drinks(饮料)You may begin the meal with warm sake. This is an alcoholic wine-like drink made from fermented rice. It is then customary to move on to either green tea or beer during the meal. Green tea should be served in a small handless cup. If you are female it is good manners to hold the cup with one hand and use the other to support the bottom.Step 3: Chopsticks(筷子)Although it is easier to eat larger pieces of sushi with your fingers, you should also use chopsticks for some pieces, and for sashimi, the thin slices of fish with which often start the meal. You will most likely be using disposable wooden chopsticks. Wooden chopsticks often have a few loose splinters of wood which can make them uncomfortable to hold. These can be removed by rubbing the sticks together. Do not let your host see you doing this as it implies that they are cheap! When selecting a piece of sushi from a serving dish, use the wider end of the sticks to pick the food up from the -plate, not the end you put in your mouth.Never pass food to another person from your chopsticks to theirs. This mimicks part of a Japanese funeral ritual and is therefore it is considered extremely offensiveWhen you are not using your chopsticks rest them on the hashi oki, or across your plate, but do not lean them on the edge of your plate.Step 4: Soy sauce(日式沾酱)Japanese soy sauce is perhaps the most common dipping sauce for sushi and sashimi. Pour a little of the soy sauce into your dish. Don't tip in too much - this is considered greedy and wasteful. You can take more if you need itStep 5: Wasabi(日本芥末)This is the extremely hot green paste that accompanies most sushi dishes. Place a small amount at the edge of your soy sauce and mix a little in with your chopsticks. Again don't get too heavy handed as it will override the subtle flavours of the sushi, and could offend the chef.Step 6: Eating the sushi(食用寿司)You should begin with Sashimi, slices of raw fish. Handle these with your chopsticks and take time to savour the flavour. Then move on to rice based sushi, which you can eat with your hands or chopsticks – whichever your prefer.Pick the piece up and dip it fish side down in the soy sauce. Do not dunk the rice into the sauce, this will make it too soggy and difficult to eat. Place the sushi in your mouth fish side down too as it's the flavour of the fish, not the rice that is important here.Ideally you should eat the sushi piece in one go, or two at a push. Try not to take a bite and return it to your plate.Step 7: Pickled ginger(腌制的生姜)These are the pale pinkish slices often served with sushi. The idea is to eat a slice in between sushi pieces to clean the palette. Use chopsticks for this, not your handsStep 8: Clear your plate(尽情享用)As much as possible, try not to leave any food on your plate. It is considered especially rude to leave rice. This film will show you the basic tricks to remember someone#39;s name - and what to do when you forget! A great six step guide to make sure you have no embarrassing situations of forgetting names. Step 1: Repetition, repetition, repetition.1. When you are first introduced, repeat your new acquaintance#39;s name - three times will cement it in your memory. The trick is to do this without them noticing. First, repeat it directly. ;It#39;s nice to meet you, Tom. How do you do?; Then repeat it twice during the course of your conversation. ;That#39;s an interesting point. Tom, what do you think?;, ;So, Tom,what do you do for a living?;技巧是在他们没有注意到的情况下重复。 “这非常有趣,汤姆,你认为呢?”“那么,汤姆,你是做什么工作的?”After this, occasionally throw their name into conversation to keep it fresh in your mind. But don#39;t overdo it, or you will seem odd. Step 2: Association2.联想During your first conversation, subtly study their face and clothing, paying particular attention to any distinguishing features. Anchor their name to a particular feature. In your mind, a simple ;Tom; might become ;Tom with the eyebrows;; ;Tom wearing blue;; or ;Tom with the crazy hair;. Next time you see them, that feature will remind you of their name. Step 3: Find a rhyme3. Alternatively, try making a simple rhyme out of their name. This can be as ludicrous as you like because, remember, it only needs to make sense to you. Tom could be ;Tom went to the prom;. If you can tie this in with a distinguishing feature, then you#39;ve got yourself a double-whammy. A bearded man named Dave, for example, might become ;Dave needs a shave;. These three tricks should help you to remember people#39;s names in any situation. However, no-one is perfect, and if you find yourself unable to remember a name, don#39;t fret. VideoJug has the answers. Step 4: Ask someone else4.问别人If you want to address someone but your memory fails you, discreetly ask a mutual friend their name. You needn#39;t be embarrassed - far better to do this than to call them ;Oi;. Step 5: Introduce them to someone else5. Introduce your new acquaintance to a friend, using your body language to prompt them to give their own name. ;Have you met Peter? He#39;s a good friend of mine from the polo club.;“你有没有见过彼得?这是我在保罗俱乐部结识的好朋友。”Take control, be polite, and do it with a smile. Hopefully they will step up and introduce themselves, giving you the opportunity to hear their name again. Step 6: Ask them6. If all else fails, simply ask them again. Politely say, ;I#39;m terribly sorry, I#39;ve forgotten your name.;如果以上措施全都没用,直接再次问他们。 Everyone forgets names from time to time, so don#39;t be embarrassed, and don#39;t make a big deal of it. After this reminder, you#39;re unlikely to forget a second time. But if you do, simply throw a drink over yourself and escaping in the ensuing melee. Thanks for watching How To Remember People#39;s Names感谢收看“怎样记住对方的名字”视频节目。 Article/201209/199741。

How do I handle the question, ;Why did you leave your last job;? Why did you leave your last job? is another semi-tricky question that most interviewers ask and it#39;s a valid question for them to ask. They have a right to know why you did leave your last employer, or your last job. If you left your last employer on terms that weren#39;t the most positive, then downplay those issues and tell the interviewer that you left your last position because you were seeking a better opportunity. You#39;re not lying, that#39;s the absolute truth and hopefully the position for which you are now interviewing is that better opportunity. If you left your last employer on good terms, then there#39;s absolutely nothing that can get you into trouble with that answer. Once again, you can just put a positive spin on it and say I was looking for an opportunity that would allow me to stretch and grow even more than my last job provided for me. Thanks for watching How To Handle The Question ;Why Did You Leave Your Last Job; In Interviews. Article/201210/203591。
